Pantone Inc. is the world renowned authority on colour. For over 45 years Pantone have been inspiring design professionals with their products and leading the way in technology for the colourful exploration and expression of creativity. In 1963 Pantone founder Lawrence Herbert created an innovative system for identifying, matching and communicating colours – and to solve the problems associated with producing accurate colour matches in the graphic arts community.

Earlier this year Pantone unveiled its Pantone View Home + Interiors 2010 – a colour direction for the home furnishings and interior design industry. This Pantone swatch book contains 4” x 1” swatch cards of each of the 78 forecasted colours – along with visual inspiration and colour harmonies for each of the individual palettes in one convenient binder. CMYK printing equivalents are supplied to accurately reproduce the forecasted colours in marketing materials, internal signage, interiors and packaging.

The eight palettes for 2010 are Greenmarket, Resourceful, Transformation, Ambiance, Gatherings, Galaxy, High Definition and Pastiche. An additional palette of Tinged Neutrals is also included.

For VGroup this forecasting tool will open up even more possibilities for us and our clients when we are thinking about mood boards and designing interiors. Whether the interior branding project is an office refresh to coincide with a launch of a new brand, a brand re-fresh or even a complete refurbishment, the scope for creating a positive, productive and happy working environment is becoming increasingly important and effective.
